Welcome!

I hope you enjoy this campaign. To make your integration into the group a smooth one, here's what every newcomer should do.

What I've told the players so far is to be clever and creative. Not everything you encounter is out to attack you and not everything you fight will fight to the death-- except predators. I'm not out to kill anyone indiscriminately. Things are set up for you to explore and I try to let the dice determine what happens (I've created lots of random tables). If you want to know how something works, it's a trial and error process. I will limit the meta-game info I give to you. That way there's more mystery to how things work.

REQUIRED ACTIVITES

1) Make sure that this campaign is right for you. If you've gotten this far, you've probably already read the 3 most important threads:
Campaign Setting: https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/a-brief-description-of-legio-t92.htm
Campaign Notes: https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/a-brief-description-of-the-campaign-t93.htm
Alignments & Classes: https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/alignment-system-and-classes-t94.htm

2) Confirm your alignment and class. The alignment is meant to give you a built-in set of assumptions, goals and motivations from which to role play. For now, only the Church and Crown and Outlaws and Outcasts classes are available. Once you've confirmed your choice, I'll give you more details on the specific class as well as some info that only your character knows.

NOTES: a) It's considered bad form to ask other players what their D&D class is, in or out of character. You'll have to draw your conclusions based on the descriptions, speech and behavior of the PC. In some cases, it's more obvious than others; b) Please do not come with an elaborate backstory already constructed. You may receive new information once I know your alignment and class that may conflict with what you've written.

3) Download the FGII program if you aren't already a user. Here's the page: http://www.fantasygrounds.com/downloads/ . You need to download the installer for both licenses. Check the box during the install which says "Install unregistered version for connecting with ULTIMATE licenses (check box and leave license field blank)." I don't know if you'll need this, but right-click on the program once installed and make sure you're running as an administrator.

4) Schedule a pre-session with me well in advance of game time. Use this alias for the host address: good pony warm camp I will be in the chat room on this forum at the same time in case you have any problems. You'll need about 15-20 minutes to download some files. Depending on how well you know FGII, you need another 40 minutes or so to roll up your abilities & HPs, choose spells and learn a few important interface tricks that will save time and avoid confusion on game day. It normally takes this long because it's a fun program to play with and there's lots you can do with it. We'll also compare notes on your PC and I can answer whatever questions you have.

5) Please send me an image. I need the image (150 x 150 min) to make a local token and the description is for the other players. You'll also need to drop the image in the folder described under Adding New Portraits:
http://www.fantasygrounds.com/userguide35E/player_charmanage.xcp

6) Write a brief physical description of your PC. The description of your general appearance is for the other players. You can get a sample of what the others have done by going here:
https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/character-descriptions-t99.htm
Some of the descriptions have their backstory included, which is NOT required.

RECOMMENDED ACTIVITIES

1) Check out the campaign map. Just something to familiarize yourself with where the PCs are at present and its relationship to other locations.
https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/regional-map-of-llion-t97.htm#460

2) Read up on the latest news and notes.
https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/gordon-s-keep-rumors-info-and-adventuring-notes-t100.htm

3) Read this thread on combat rulings.
https://candc.forumotion.com/the-legio-campaign-gmt-f6/combat-rules-rulings-t102.htm

I hope this hasn't been too overwhelming.

Feel free to ask questions.
